About the volunteering opportunity
As a DigitalAid Coach, you’ll help young refugees navigate their increasingly digital daily lives. That’s because some refugees have trouble organizing their lives digitally. As DigitalAid coaches, you’ll help bridge these knowledge gaps and empower people to navigate their increasingly digital daily lives.
Your Tasks
As a digital coach, you can provide support with the following digital challenges:
- Communication via email, e.g., with a government agency
- Zoom and other video communication tools
- Online job platforms
- Scheduling online appointments with government agencies
- Using search engines
- Using language-learning apps
- Using homeschooling programs
- Using other learning portals for children and adults
- Optimizing the use of digital devices
- Backing up important data
- Sending PDFs
Volunteers are trained by ArrivalAid and prepared for their assignments as Digital Aid Coaches. The target group consists of young refugees aged approximately 14 to 19. The sessions take place at the refugees’ shelters and, depending on the arrangement, can be conducted either as one-on-one mentoring sessions or in small groups of up to four people.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Of course, you should be fit in the use of common Microsoft programs and be proficient in the use of online tools such as Zoom. Basically, you don't need any special qualifications to become an online coach. If you are confident in the tasks described above, anyone can become active with us.

A coaching session lasts 2 to 6 weeks, depending on your needs. You should have about 2 hours per week for the project.
