About the volunteering opportunity

The Weit.Blick family and community center in Berlin-Lichtenberg offers a wide range of family education and support services as well as various activities for people in the neighborhood. These include a daycare center, a church and a meeting café. To support children in their everyday school life, we offer homework help for pupils in grades 1 to 6. In doing so, we create a place of shared learning, encouragement and mutual support.

Your Tasks

Activity: Together with other volunteers, you will support children in grades 1 to 6 with their homework. You will help them to understand tasks, explain learning content and encourage independent learning. You will use prepared materials or provide individual support depending on the children's needs. You will work together with the team of full-time staff and volunteers and accompany the pupils in a friendly and motivating learning atmosphere.

Volunteers must be native German speakers.

You are interested in the world of families and treat other people with respect and appreciation. You also have a good command of German and enjoy imparting knowledge.

Requirements: The minimum age is 18 years. As our commitment also includes children and refugees, you will need an extended certificate of good conduct, the costs of which will be covered. Proof of measles vaccination is also required.
