About the volunteering opportunity
Our family center Weit.Blick in Berlin-Lichtenberg includes various offers of family education and support, a kindergarten and a community. A language café and individual language support are also part of the offerings. People who want to learn German are supported here. The language café is a place of encounter, togetherness and exchange. Participants learn the German language in a playful way.
Your Tasks
Activity: You give in presence homework help either as a group or individual offer. In the focus you teach the subjects of mathematics and German for pupils from elementary school. But other subjects can also occur.
What's needed
What we're looking for: Retired teachers, students, people between school and work/study. We are looking for patient, understanding and culturally sensitive people, preferably with initial experience in teaching learning content. You can approach children and young people and are interested in encouraging them and supporting them in their learning success. You are creative and willing to familiarize yourself with current learning paths.
Requirements: You speak fluent German. The minimum age for this honorary position is 18 years. Because it is an honorary position also with refugees, an extended certificate of good conduct is required. There are no costs for this. In addition, proof of measles vaccination is required if you were born after 1970.
Time required
Time commitment: once a week for 2-3 hours. We would like a regular commitment.
When: Thursday 04.30-06.00 pm.
