About the volunteering opportunity
Do you want to volunteer? Do you want to work with young people?
Support young people on their way into training or work? Then get involved as a mentor or coach.
Your Tasks
Your role as a mentor: confidant and coach
Showing young people new perspectives: Mentors form tandems with the participants of our JOBLINGE program, in which they support the young people in articulating their interests, better assessing their skills and making the best use of them.
Enriching for both sides
The young people benefit from the professional and life experience of their mentors.
They appreciate having someone who takes them and their wishes seriously, gives them practical tips, stands by them in the event of difficulties, and rejoices with them in their successes. The mentors create perspectives - and in the process broaden their own perspective through encounters with young people from completely different backgrounds and life worlds.
What's needed
Your start in mentoring
You will be prepared for your task in a professional training and after intensive interviews you will be matched with a mentee. You should plan 1-2 hours per week for mentoring over a period of about six months. In the beginning, the assignment is usually the most time-consuming.
As a mentor, you will not be alone: our staff will be there for you and will hold regular discussions with you and your mentee. Furthermore, mentor get-togethers offer the opportunity to exchange experiences and network with other mentors.
Convinced? Please contact us directly to discuss your next start date and further steps.

Joblinge gAG Leipzig
JOBLINGE empowers young people - regardless of their background - to recognize their own potential and work their way into an apprenticeship or job. We dare to break new ground for the success of young people and allow ourselves to be measured by our effectiveness. In doing so, we combine the strongest forces from civil society, government and business.
