About the volunteering opportunity

Do you want to volunteer? Do you want to work with young people?
Support young people on their way into training or work? Then get involved as a mentor or coach.

Your Tasks

Your role as a mentor: a trusted advisor and someone to talk to.

Young people between the ages of 17 and 27 receive structured and professional support from JOBLINGE Klassik in their search for an apprenticeship. Volunteer mentors are a key part of the JOBLINGE program: They provide individualized, one-on-one support to participants and empower them on their path to an apprenticeship or job. The young people benefit enormously from interacting on an equal footing, gaining access to new experiences, and the trust that mentors place in them. A mentor is a trusted advisor who bears no responsibility for the actual search for or placement in an apprenticeship. Rather, you serve as a conversation partner, advisor, companion, door-opener, role model, or source of inspiration.

Enriching for Both Sides

Young people benefit from their mentors’ professional and life experience.
They appreciate having someone who takes them and their aspirations seriously, offers practical advice, stands by them when they face difficulties, and celebrates their successes with them. Mentors open up new perspectives—and in doing so, broaden their own horizons through encounters with young people from very different backgrounds and walks of life.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Your start in mentoring

You will be prepared for your task in a professional training and after intensive interviews you will be matched with a mentee. You should plan 1-2 hours per week for mentoring over a period of about six months. In the beginning, the assignment is usually the most time-consuming.
As a mentor, you will not be alone: our staff will be there for you and will hold regular discussions with you and your mentee. Furthermore, mentor get-togethers offer the opportunity to exchange experiences and network with other mentors.

Convinced? Please contact us directly to discuss your next start date and further steps.
