Fundraising for animal welfare projects

We are looking for volunteers in the field of fundraising for our animal welfare association. We are an association in growth with projects at home and abroad. To finance our projects we are dependent on sufficient funding through donations. Currently we do not do any explicit fundraising - unfortunately we do it "on the side" due to lack of time and resources. Therefore, we are looking for help in this area in order to build up a team that explicitly takes care of the acquisition of donors as well as the support and relationship management. We also want to start with a strategy and a concept to restart the topic in our association work.

Your Tasks

Your tasks with us would be:

• Develop strategy/concept for fundraising
• Transferring the concept into implementation and building up the "Fundraising" team
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with a donor network
• if necessary, work out corporate cooperations, acquisition of large donations, etc.
• Documentation / database maintenance

What's needed

If you already have experience in fundraising, that would be great! It's not a basic requirement, but you should have an idea of how the philosophy of giving works, what it means to convince people of a vision and how to turn people into returning supporters.

We are a young and committed association. We also live our association life and like to exchange ideas with each other. Therefore you should be a rather communicative type. You like cats and dogs and you are interested in doing something against the abuses in the area of street animals at home and abroad. You want to use your know-how to convince people that Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. is careful with donations and strives for a sustainable improvement of the situation of street animals, so that they become supporters of our animal welfare work.

You are good at networking, like people and like to exchange ideas at eye level. You have no problems to stand up for a good cause and to ask people for support. You like to work in a team and are interested in shaping and developing a growing association. You are reliable and keep promises, even if the work is done on a purely voluntary basis.

Time required

Important notice

At the beginning, the time commitment will probably be higher, as the field is still "unoccupied" - we are starting the fundraising aspect as a new division in our association. You can help shape it and bring in ideas. This chance probably doesn't come along very often. We basically work a lot decentralized (not exclusively in Corona times), communicate via Slack and a lot virtually. Nevertheless, we like to live out the "association" theme. So you shouldn't be a "loner" and you should be able to imagine achieving something together with others in an association. A positive attitude helps the club, but especially the animals enormously.

This project is location independent.

We are a small animal welfare association in the Rhine-Main area that focuses on the protection of and help for cats and dogs in need. We work throughout Germany and with partner organisations in Spain. Our work is based on three main areas of education, spaying/neutering and animal placement/adoption and we work entirely on a voluntary basis.
