Volunteers needed to make sandwiches at the Bahnhofsmission am Zoo

The Bahnhofsmission is a contact point for anyone who needs help in the station area. This includes travelers in emergency situations as well as people with social or psychological difficulties. Many of our guests are non-German citizens, which results in an intercultural exchange. The Bahnhofsmission am Zoo is a so-called low-threshold facility that is open 365 days a year. Every day, we provide up to 600 people with food, drink and, in an emergency, clothing.

We are looking for people who would like to actively participate in the processes of the station mission and support the preparation and serving of meals as well as other activities.

Good knowledge of German, other languages such as Polish, Bulgarian, Romanian and Russian are very welcome. You will need a health pass, a so-called "Red Card", for this voluntary work. There are no costs for this. You should be vaccinated against tetanus and measles.

We are looking for a longer-term commitment, at least 1-2x per week for 4.5-5.5 hours per shift, depending on availability.

You are convinced that every person has an inalienable dignity and are ready to act in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the Berlin City Mission. You respect the Christian faith as well as other religions and world views.
