About the volunteering opportunity
The drivers and co-drivers of our vans meet at our location in the Rodenkirchen industrial estate between 7.45 am and 8 am from Monday to Friday. The vehicles are loaded with boxes and food from the warehouse and then drive on fixed routes to supermarkets throughout Cologne. There, drivers and co-drivers take over donated food, pre-sort and load the goods into the vehicles. We then distribute the food to around 40 food distribution points and youth and women's facilities in Cologne, where people in need can pick up food. At around 3 pm., the tours are back at our headquarters.
Further details about voluntary work at the Tafel Köln e.V. can be found in an information talk for interested parties, which is offered regularly at our location in Kirschbaumweg. It lasts about 20 minutes.

Where?
Tafel Köln e.V.
The Tafel in Cologne is an indispensable social institution in the Cologne help system, which has made it its mission to help people in need with the most natural: with food, attention and solidarity. Although there are many people in Cologne who are concerned about their daily nutrition, huge amounts of food are thrown away every day. This is exactly where our volunteers help. They collect tons of donated food from supermarkets, bakeries and manufacturers and distribute it to needy people.
