About the volunteering opportunity
The cozy community center on the ground floor of the senior living facility in Friedrichshain is a popular gathering place for older residents in the neighborhood. The conservatory café and the cozy lounge are venues for regular events. We’re looking for 2–3 volunteers to help out at the café on a long-term basis.
The café is open every weekday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We especially need help on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Your Tasks
- Make coffee
- Cutting and serving cake
- Serve guests and load the dishwasher
- Organizational tasks / Preparing the rooms
- Being attentive to guests’ needs
- Possibly accompanying guests on excursions or to events
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Enjoyment of the work and spending time with older adults
- At least B2-level German proficiency
- You are available on a regular basis—either weekly or every two weeks—to help us one day a week from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (for at least 6 months)
