About the volunteering opportunity
A house for everyone - our meeting place in the heart of Worringen
In our small, lovingly designed house with a beautiful garden, we offer space for encounters, creativity and community - open to all people, regardless of age or origin.
Whether it's a weekly board game meeting, ukulele rehearsals, monthly repair café, flower swaps, geocaching get-togethers or regular parties. There's always something going on here! Our house is a lively place where neighbors meet, ideas are allowed to grow and new friendships are formed.

Your Tasks
We are looking for volunteers for a planned series of lectures on the following topics:
- Nutrition in old age (diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis)
- Sleep and stress in old age
- Mental fitness and memory training
- Understanding AI (how AI is changing the way we age)
- Recognizing fake news
- Using social media safely
- Smartphone consultation hour
- Planning the transition to retirement
- Understanding long-term care insurance
- Healthcare proxy and living will
- Inheritance and bequests
- Supplementary income in retirement
- Dating and partnership in old age
- Housing projects in old age
- Forms of burial
Do you feel addressed? We would be delighted to be able to implement one or two presentations in this way. Everyone is welcome to join in, help shape the event or simply come along and be part of it. Anyone who has their own ideas can bring them to us. We are happy to support you in implementing them.

The Office for Civic Commitment of the AWO Cologne is a consulting service. People who are willing to volunteer will receive advice and will be placed in organisations that work with volunteers. Further priority will be given to LESEMENTOR Cologne, young volunteers, further education and voluntary refugee work.
