Support to preserve valuable biotopes and their biodiversity

Our BUND local group Braunschweig is in charge of numerous different biotopes in the region, which are regularly maintained by us. We have been carrying out our biotope protection work for over 40 years now (since 1979) and since 1982 we have been active every Friday. The long experience, the ongoing commitment and the mix of some very knowledgeable experts in our team are paying off: At these sites many rare and protected species could develop well and show a stable population over the years. Thus we make an active and direct contribution to the preservation of biodiversity.

At the end of a mission there is coffee, cake and cozy get-together. In good weather, there is often time to admire the beauty of the biotopes and to let our experts explain the different plant and animal species.

To participate with us, however, no special knowledge is required: Anyone can join us! Our biotope conservation work is supported by the dedicated efforts of many volunteers and we are very grateful for all who are active with us.

We meet every Friday from 2 pm in the biotope. The biotope protection missions are expected to last until 6 pm. However, it is not obligatory to be there all the time, which means that you can also come later or leave earlier.

Occasionally we also have Saturday mornings planned, These will also be communicated in good time.

You can decide for yourself how often you would like to support us, you are not tied to the dates.

Instructions on occupational safety are communicated to new employees at the beginning and must of course be observed.

Since we don't have a fixed meeting point, but always changing locations, we have created a mailing list for interested volunteers, which we can add you to if you are interested. You will then always be informed in advance where we will be meeting next. So feel free to contact us with your e-mail address and we will add you.
