Start with a Friend mediates friendships between people with and without an immigration background. In 1:1 tandems and in diverse communities. It is especially important to us that we create encounters at eye level so that friendships can develop. What can you do if you want to get involved with us?
You can arrange tandems with us. In return, you get to know many interesting people: You think about who fits together in a tandem. You can educate yourself at our nationwide Weminars. You can also think about what we want to do together in the community. You can plan and implement events with others on the team. So that SwaF becomes better known in the city, we take care of public relations together.

Motivation and interest in other people.
Start with a Friend connects immigrants and locals in tandems based on interests and needs. Ideally, a friendship develops out of this, but in any case, a social network is created that makes it easier for immigrants to have a good start in Germany. Start with a Friend accompanies and advises the tandems after the matching and organises events to bring the tandems into contact with each other. It is also important to us to create structures in which people can get involved, even if they are tied up in their work and family life. The time schedule is therefore flexible; further training courses are offered but are optional. So far, Start with a Friend is available in 21 cities nationwide.
More about the organisation
