About the volunteering opportunity
The diaconal project "Dia-Dem" helps caring relatives in Langenhagen with the care of family members suffering from dementia. For this purpose, we are regularly looking for interested volunteers who would like to pursue a meaningful occupation in personal human contact.
We offer an expense allowance, training, regular exchange in the group, professional support and continuous further training. Carrier of these offers for the support in the everyday life (recognized in accordance with §45 b SGB XII) is the association Gemeinsam leben in Langenhagen e.V.
Your Tasks
After an initial training, the mediation between requesting relatives and the Dia-Dem helpers takes place. Subsequently, these arrange the assignments individually directly with each other. Depending upon desire the support can take place in the dwelling of the family or by common walks, possibly also purchases. The performed assignments are documented and a cost rate is settled with the respective care insurance.
What's needed
The helpers are trained for dealing with dementia patients in a weekly seminar. Prerequisites are age of majority, good health and preferably freely available time.
Time required
The volunteers take over the care of those in need of care in their home environment by the hour according to individual agreement.
Important notice
The cost of the training is borne by the association. The helpers are insured by the association while they are providing care.
