Donate money to organizations or individuals in everyday life

What is this commitment about?

Donations are an ideal way to support specific organizations in their work or people in need in everyday life. In general, you have 3 options for monetary donations from which you can choose:

• direct to needy people in everyday life - for example, to sellers of street magazines or people who ask for donations in parks, supermarkets or bus stops

• indirect to organizations that work for certain social issues - such as homeless aid, Ukraine aid or climate & environmental protection

• permanently as a sustaining member with a regular donation to an organization - here, even a small but regular amount is often enough to sustainably support the work of the organization.

Non-profit organizations usually provide a donation receipt, with which you can deduct the donation from your taxes.

What are 5-Minute Commitments?

With our 5-Minute Commitments, we want to inspire you to easily integrate volunteering into your everyday life. They are independent of non-profit organizations and allow you to individually get involved for people and nature in your neighborhood.

Your Tasks

All you need to do: Take a moment to think about the topic you care about and where you would like to donate. Then get an overview of how much money you can donate (and how regularly) and find an organization or donation platform (e.g. betterplace.org) to which you want to donate.

In addition, you can of course also set a budget for yourself that you would like to give to people in need on a daily basis (e.g. 5 EUR per week)

What's needed

All you need is a little budget. It doesn't have to be high, because even small donations can make a difference.

Time required

Thinking about where you want to donate, researching a suitable organization and performing the donation can take some time. Spontaneous donations of money in everyday life, on the other hand, are possible without much effort.

This project is location independent.

We are a social enterprise from Berlin with a big dream: We want a world in which everyone contributes to a better and more sustainable future according to their possibilities and regardless of time budget, language or previous knowledge. For this purpose, we gather on vostel.de numerous engagement offers from non-profit organizations that are looking for volunteers. By doing this, we show concrete possibilities for action in order to become socially active and would like to motivate above all the younger generations to get involved for a better world.
