About the volunteering opportunity
In the mentoring project of the AWO volunteer agency ExChange, mentors from Berlin and refugees find each other. We are looking for committed people who accompany refugees and make their arrival in a new environment easier. Personal contact at eye level helps people get to know each other better and learn from each other. Prejudices can thus be reduced and replaced by shared experiences.
We offer you: individual support and advice, regular training, supervision and get-together events, access to free offers of cultural events in the context of mentoring, issuance of certificates of commitment, if necessary the possibility of travel reimbursement.
Your Tasks
Wanted is a Ukrainian and German-speaking person who can support a single mother from Ukraine. Since the woman only speaks Ukrainian, a person is needed to translate when dealing with authorities. Furthermore, the woman is looking for someone to help with a move.
What's needed
Commitment and reliability, motivation and patience, Empathy, openness, reflectiveness, knowledge of Ukrainian
