Support migrants and refugees in creating their own workshop (EU funded)

The project RAISE (e-VELP) serves the purpose of integrating young migrants and refugees who have arrived in the EU into the working world of the respective countries of arrival. The instrument is the e-VELP online course which is individually tailored to the needs of the participants through an AI coaching tool (RAISE).

Your Tasks

Your role as a Volunteer Educator-Trainer includes the following activities:

• Participation in an online course for Volunteer Educator-Trainers (20h, developed by Vilnius University and Heidelberg University of Education)

• Personal collaboration with 1-2 Volunteer Educators (VE) by assisting in participation of online courses wherein participants create their own workshop (reviewing and assisting in optimization of deliverables)

• Participation in demo meetings with developers of the AI Coaching Tool, to describe the experience of working with the tool

Optional: Participation in the 4-day live training in Romania in April 2023 (travel expenses will be covered). Benefits from live training:

• You will have the opportunity to participate in the very first offline meeting as part of the e-VELP course. This will include workshop development, presentation skills and actual delivery of the outcomes.

• Optimize your coaching skills in these 4 intensive days and help young refugees and migrants build confidence and open new perspectives

• Expand your international network with like-minded youth workers and organizations

What's needed

You should bring great interest in helping the participants of the VE course to package their personal skills or cultural knowledge into great workshops. You have experience in the labor market, speak good English, and have a desire to volunteer.

Time required

Before you can start, you take part in an online course yourself to ensure optimal coaching. This course takes about 20 hours and can be completed by yourself. From the moment you start working with your mentees, the assessment per mentee is 5 hours until they have completed the online course.
