About the volunteering opportunity

Become part of our rescue bees! The ASB Rescue Bees courses are intended for kindergartens, pre-schools and primary schools. Together with your team partner, you will visit the facilities and teach children in a playful way that even they can provide great help with small things. Through the child-friendly introduction to topics such as bleeding, blue light/siren and aid measures, children not only lose their fear of emergency medical measures and the rescue service, but are also motivated to help other children themselves.

The aim of the course is to teach the children the joy of helping and to make it clear to them that emergencies are part of life. The children should experience that they are taken seriously in an emergency and can fetch help, comfort and give warmth. They are also sensitised to pay attention to their surroundings, to perceive imminent dangers and to be able to react quickly to them.

Your Tasks

Everything you need to know and be able to do, we teach you in our special rescue bee training courses.

Under your guidance, children learn how to make an emergency call and provide first aid until an adult arrives. In addition, the care of wounds is practiced with children as well as the transmission of diseases is explained. Questions such as "Why can't I go to daycare or to grandma and grandpa's house when I'm sick?" are discussed together.

Your tasks include:

  • Taught first aid topics in a child-friendly way
  • Control of the materials needed in the first aid backpack
