About the volunteering opportunity

ReDI School offers education to break down barriers and connect the leaders of tomorrow. We use technology to connect human potential with employment opportunities with dignity and humility. We value reliability, usefulness, care, and playfulness. We are a volunteer-based organization that could not exist without the incredible power of our tech community of volunteers across Germany, Denmark & Sweden. Our volunteers teach, mentor, and support our students along their journeys. This way, we can offer all our classes without any fee to our learners.
Your Tasks
In Hamburg, we currently offer the Digital Career Program, which consists of 9 courses in 4 tracks. These four tracks are Web Development (HTML/CSS, JavaScript and JavaScriptII with React and NodeJS), User-centered design (UX/UI Design Basics), Data Analytics (Python Foundations, Python Intermediate and Machine Learning) and Cloud and Infrastructure (Cloud Computing with Azure-900).
The ReDi School Hamburg is looking for committed people for the following courses (which can also be adopted digitally):
The ReDi School Hamburg is looking for committed people for the following courses (which can also be adopted digitally):
- Present teaching content and support the students in class with exercises.
- The ReDI Team provides presentations and exercises!
- Classes are taught in pairs, with teaching teams comprising 7-9 superheroes. Volunteers usually take over around one lesson each week and can assign themselves to different roles according to their preferences (lead teacher or assistant teacher).
- Learners groups consist of about 15-20 students.
Share your interest through Vostel directly or by filling in this interest form. You will then be invited for a meet & greet via calendly to ask your questions before signing up!
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
Ideally, you should have knowledge or working experience in the following areas:
- Python Foundations, Python Intermediate and Machine Learning
- UX/UI Design Basics
- JavaScript and JavaScript II (NodeJS and React)
- HTML & CSS
- Cloud
Our courses are taught in English.

On weekdays, at night
Lessons take place on weekday evenings (17-19 CEST), either Mon + Wed or Tue + Thu.
The time required for the lessons is approx. 3 lessons per month, 2 hours per lesson when teaching.

ReDI School of Digital Integration
ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit digital school for newcomers in Berlin. The school offers its students free, high-quality training, the chance to join the startup and digital industry, and a physical platform to connect newcomers to locals.
To support the students in their studies, ReDI equips them with workstations in co-working spaces and access to technical mentors to work in project groups. Apart from technological skills, ReDI also provides know-how of digital entrepreneurs, and connects students early on with the local startup scene and potential employers through networking events.
