About the volunteering opportunity
alpha mentors help children in schools and refugee shelters with literacy. You accompany a child in the acquisition of writing and language and are in direct contact with their teacher.
In our introductory seminar, you will learn how you can provide support in just a few steps and with simple exercises.
We will provide you with specialist and practical knowledge and raise awareness of the living and learning situation of children and young people, including the topic of illiteracy and its causes and what it means to be illiterate.
Through your commitment, you make an important contribution to school integration and more equal opportunities.

The AWO|FFM Volunteer Agency is located in the heart of the city and has been working with a team of 11 people since 2008 with over 500 social work institutions and arranges meaningful volunteer work in cooperation with many actors in the city. You will be informed in detail before your assignment, if necessary trained, insured and always have contact persons on site who will support you.
