About the volunteering opportunity
With the Hacker School, we pursue the vision that every young person should have programmed once before deciding on a professional future.
In our @yourschool PLUS format, we visit Hamburg schools in socio-economically challenging environments and give low-threshold programming courses for students there. In most courses we program with Scratch, but there are also courses on HTML/CSS and Paython from time to time. On our checkin page you can see all scheduled courses and course topics.
You can support us once on a certain date, but we are also happy if you want to join us regularly. We offer courses in different schools on an ongoing basis.
Your Tasks
Together with other volunteers and a course leader from the Hacker School, you will run a low-threshold programming course on Scratch at a school in Hamburg. You explain the modules, introduce the participants step by step to programming and inspire them with your own career and your enthusiasm for IT topics.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
We provide you with a course concept designed, so that you can complete the course with little preparation.
In addition, you will be prepared for the assignment in an onboarding session. For the preparation you should plan a total of approx. 2 hours.

Our courses take place regularly at different schools in Hamburg. You can view all available dates on our checkin page and choose the date that suits you best.
