About the volunteering opportunity
ReDI School of Digital Integration gGmbH is a non-profit educational institution that provides disadvantaged communities with access to digital education. It offers free, practical, and high-quality training, promotes social integration, and connects learners with the digital industry. Through workshops, mentoring, and contacts with start-ups, ReDI supports entry into the field and opens up new career prospects.
At the ReDI Kids Program, we are looking for volunteers to help us in our mission to get children from underserved communities, with a migration backround or forced migration excited about programming. All our courses are free and only possible thanks to our volunteers. Do you enjoy working with children and introducing them to the digital world? Then you've come to the right place!

We are looking for people who have B1 - B2 German skills to teach kids basic block programming. The programming we are talking about is super easy for an adult to learn, it takes less than 2 hours and we can also provide for wokshops.
We also teach the programming language Python and are looking for people with ideally English or German skills to help us with the content and teaching.
Your Tasks
- Teaching block programming to kids ages 8 to 14
- Teaching Python programming language to kids ages 11 to 16
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
We have 2 different roles in 3 different courses with different requirements:
- Digital Ninjas course: Teacher Role = German B2, No programming skills, you just have to learn our material about intro to computer (Micro-bit). Assistant Role = German B1, No programming skills, you just have to learn our material about Micro-bit. (We have Micro-bit workshops)
- Digital Heroes course: Teacher Role = German B2, You have to learn about Micro-Bit and know Python Assistant Role = German B1 and learn about Micro-bit (We have Micro-bit workshops)
- Digital Super Heroes course: Teacher Role: German B2, Python Knowledge Assistant Role: German B1 or only English is fine and Python knowledge

On weekdays, on weekends, during the day
We have classes all week long: Sunday classes and Holiday coding camps, AG (after school classes) and Coding caravans on saturday where we go to refugee camps to teach basic block programming. Your commitment is thereby very flexible.

ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit digital school for newcomers in Berlin. The school offers its students free, high-quality training, the chance to join the startup and digital industry, and a physical platform to connect newcomers to locals.
To support the students in their studies, ReDI equips them with workstations in co-working spaces and access to technical mentors to work in project groups. Apart from technological skills, ReDI also provides know-how of digital entrepreneurs, and connects students early on with the local startup scene and potential employers through networking events.
