About the volunteering opportunity
In the mentoring project of our volunteering office MARIE, people from Berlin who want to support other people find each other. We are looking for committed people who accompany refugees or other groups of people with support needs and make it easier for them to arrive in a new environment. Personal contact at eye level helps people to get to know each other better and to learn from each other. Prejudices can thus be reduced and replaced by shared experiences.
We offer you: individual support and advice, a regular training program, joint recreational events, access to free offers of cultural events, issuance of certificates of commitment, if necessary (BVG) travel reimbursement.
Your Tasks
Support a man (early 50's) in learning and deepening his language skills. He lives in Wedding and is preparing for a C1 final exam. For this he would like support in regular meetings with corresponding advanced writing, reading and listening comprehension tasks.
The meetings could take place, for example, in a library in Wedding, preferably in the morning. Digital meetings would also be possible. Further details will be discussed during a personal meeting.
