About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for mediators of visiting partnerships for older people in the districts of Reinickendorf, Pankow, Mitte, Wedding, Prenzlauer Berg, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Lichtenberg, Tempelhof-Schöneberg and Neukölln.
In order to be able to reach and bring together even more lonely elderly people and volunteers in our city, we are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping to get to know new volunteers and elderly people after an intensive training phase.
Your Tasks
This includes organizing the information evening for those interested in volunteering, getting to know lonely older people and arranging visiting partnerships between old and young. This project is a new form of engagement in which one can actively shape the project.
What's needed
You should be interested in working with elderly people, be open-minded and enjoy making new contacts, be reliable and flexible in terms of time and place (mainly evenings and weekends). Since we work in a team, the ability to work in a team is also an advantage... ;)
Time required
Flexible, according to own possibilities, but at least for 1 year
Important notice
Other than that, you'll need time for three to four monthly appointments and a leadership certificate (we'll be happy to explain what that's all about - but you won't need that until after we've talked and you decide to join us).
