We, the AWO Family Center am Fennpfuhl (Lichtenberg), are urgently looking for volunteers who can support us on our weekly gardening day with the families.

The family center is located in the "Haus der Begegnung", which also houses the AWO children's and youth club "Judith Auer" and the projects "Stadtteilmütter" and "Elternbegleitung". It sees itself as a place of encounter, tolerance, appreciation and education. Our main target group is families, especially those with children aged 0 to 6. But older siblings, (grand)parents and other people from the neighborhood are also welcome! Here you can get in touch with others, relax, laugh and be creative. You can learn new things or teach others. We have a varied monthly program with recurring offers.

Your Tasks
The garden day takes place every Monday from March from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.. We need help with the preparations (from 2:00 p.m.), working with the families (gardening/crafts) and clearing up. We are looking for reliable people who can lend a hand when needed.
If you have the time and inclination, you are also welcome to help us with the garden project in general. The garden area offers space for various beds and all kinds of other open spaces for building, decorating, planting, digging, etc. There is also the opportunity to realize your own projects! In addition to the design, the garden should also be regularly maintained.

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Commitment and reliability, physical resilience, enjoyment of gardening and being with people, team spirit, manual skills.

The MARIE Engagement Office is the contact point for volunteering at AWO Berlin Kreisverband Südost e.V.
We advise interested parties on the opportunities and framework conditions for volunteering in the district association's facilities and projects.
We place interested volunteers in a suitable placement.
We offer volunteers:

Further training, exchange of experience, etc.
