Studienkompass supports young people from families without academic experience in discovering their potential and finding an individually tailored educational path after leaving school. Participants receive intensive guidance and support for three years during the transition from school to university or vocational training. Over the course of the support, the young people learn to shape their own educational path and make future-oriented career decisions.
In 2024, more than 1,200 young people will take part in the program. Around 4,600 alumni have already successfully completed the program at over 30 locations across Germany. In regional groups, around 20 students work together on their future. The core elements of the support are various workshops to improve self-assessment, to competently evaluate information on fields of study and universities and to take the initiative in planning their own studies and career paths. In order to get to know job profiles in practice on site, the beneficiaries visit universities and companies. The support is supplemented by various focus workshops on topics such as digital education, entrepreneurship, cultural education or STEM.
Volunteer mentors accompany the group over the entire three-year period - in the last two years of school and in the first year at university or in training - giving advice, providing motivational support, and shaping the support program together with the young people by designing digital & analog workshops and organizing group meetings & excursions. Individual discussions with the participants are also part of the program. Currently, more than 200 mentors are involved in the Studiencompass throughout Germany. They are closely supported and trained by the office staff. We look forward to your support in Rostock.
We are looking for mentors who enjoy working with young people, who would like to pass on their own experiences from their studies or vocational training to young people from families without academic experience and who will accompany the young people for at least 2 years, preferably 3 years, starting in August 2025. If you are interested, please contact us and we will arrange an individual meeting to get to know each other.
