About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for people who are committed to supporting families in the first weeks and months after the birth of a child. Through the practical help of wellcome volunteers, mothers and fathers are relieved and a good start in family life is supported.
Your Tasks
The focus of the support is to help with the care of the child / children. For example, the volunteers take the baby for a walk while the mother catches up on missed night sleep, they take care of the sibling, they accompany the mother of twins to the pediatrician. They provide very practical support and listen.
What's needed
We are looking for enthusiasm for the idea of supporting families in the first year of the baby's life, empathy, reliability and discretion.
We expect experience in dealing with babies and toddlers.
You should have at least 1x weekly 2-3 hours of time and this also reliably over a period of about. 4-5 months can provide.
The deployment usually takes place at the families at home or in their immediate vicinity.
We require from all our volunteers an extended police clearance certificate. A corresponding letter with which you can then apply for this free of charge, you get at the familiarization interview with the team coordinator.
Time required
Flexible schedule possible in consultation with families, minimum 2-3 hours a week over a period of 4-5 months.
