About the volunteering opportunity
For our nursing home in Pankow, we are now looking for volunteers to support the nursing home team with group activities for residents. The "Dr. Günter Hesse" residential care home offers 80 residents with care grades I to V a home in Pankow. You can get involved on a one-off or regular basis, whichever suits you best.
Your Tasks
You support the work of the Pankow nursing home team.
There are various group activities for the residents in the care home, for example
- Exercise (every Monday)
- Finger gymnastics (every Tuesday)
- Handicrafts & creativity
- Garden group
- Reading aloud
- Games (bingo, Mensch ärgere Dich nicht, skittles...)
What your commitment looks like:
8:30 am: Arrive and get to know the team on site
8:45 am: Transfer for people in wheelchairs
9:00 - 10:00 a.m.: Group activity for people with dementia
10:00 am: Return transfer for people in wheelchairs
10:00 - 11:00 am: Group activity for seniors without dementia
What's needed
- Reliability
- Ability to work in a team
- Interest and pleasure in being together with older people
Time required
Important notice
We regularly offer you free further and advanced training for your social commitment, for example: "Wheelchair training for accompanying people with mobility impairments" and "Understanding dementia - validating interaction with people with dementia". You can find out more on our website.Dates
