About the volunteering opportunity
About one in ten patients in hospital is suffering from dementia. When patients with dementia are admitted as inpatients, this is often a great burden for the patient. The environment is unfamiliar, the people are unfamiliar, and the daily routine in the hospital does not match the usual daily routine. There is also often a lack of an important caregiver and engagement opportunities. Therefore, we are looking for patient companions for our patients with dementia.
Your Tasks
The tasks can be varied. The aim is to support patients with dementia during their stay in hospital. Conversations, games or walks help people with dementia just as much as accompanying them to examinations. In addition, information about counseling centers and existing services in Wolfsburg and the region can be passed on to patients and relatives if there is a need in this regard.
