About the volunteering opportunity
Our project arranges 1:1 sponsorships between volunteers and students with an immigration background.
We organize regular leisure activities for the tandems (students and sponsors), such as the annual summer party. The sponsors also receive financial support for joint activities and excursions with the students. Schülerpaten Hamburg e. V. qualifies its volunteers for their work through seminars and further training. In addition, we offer them opportunities for exchange and support both the sponsors and the students throughout the sponsorship. Our sponsorships are about supporting and accompanying the students on their educational path, but also about the possibility to create space for mutual understanding and trust. We and our sponsors are also still in the process of learning, which is why we are happy to work together for each other and for social cohesion.

Your Tasks
As part of the sponsorship, the volunteers provide tutoring once a week at the students' homes. They are also the point of contact for problems and questions in everyday life and for support in finding a career.
