The Plauen children's and youth helpline offers callers the opportunity to talk about their worries and joys. In an understanding conversation, we relieve the callers, look for solutions together and help them to help themselves.
Your Tasks
The main focus is on telephone counselling. For this we are looking for people who like to listen to children and young people and talk to them.
In the future, we will start a chat counselling service. So if you like chatting, you are in the right place. This would also make you more flexible in terms of location.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Empathy is one of your core competencies and you enjoy self-reflection.... You are interested in psychological topics... You are open to other opinions and people and you would like to encourage others in your spare time... Then we are looking for you!

Approx. 6 hours per month.
On weekdays, during the day, at night
First of all, there is a training for volunteer counseling at the children and youth helpline. This takes about six months and requires a weekly commitment of 4 hours. Afterwards, you can provide counselling on the phone, where we expect a commitment of at least 6 hours per month.
