About the volunteering opportunity

Would you like to volunteer for people with a flight or migration background? At Malteser Integrationsdienst you can help people improve their language skills!

Several times a week we offer different formats for refugees in Frankfurt who want to improve their language skills. In small groups we practice reading, writing and speaking in German. We talk about topics related to arriving and life in Germany. The exchange takes away the fear of speaking and helps participants to better understand German and Germany.

We currently offer the Malteser Sprachcafé on Mondays 5 - 6:30 p.m. and the Deutsch-Treff on Wednesdays and Thursdays 6 - 7:30 p.m.

Support, give chances, make Frankfurt understandable - through language support at eye level.

Your Tasks

  • Practice conversation and/or light grammar in German
  • Encourage participants to speak
  • Briefly prepare practice lessons, i.e. select topic and pick out text or task if necessary (large archive of materials available)
  • Participate in monthly team meetings
