Interpreter for the Kopernikus House

We are looking for committed people who would like to volunteer as telephone interpreters for our accommodation, especially for the languages Arabic, Turkish and Persian.

If you have language skills in one or more of these languages and are interested in this voluntary work, we would be delighted to have you join us.

Interpreting at appointments/ telephone interpreting

1. Language skills: Fluency in one or more of the languages sought (Arabic, Turkish, Farsi/Dari, Russian, Kurdish, French) as well as a good knowledge of German.

2. empathy and sensitivity: an understanding of the needs and cultural backgrounds of the residents in order to create a supportive atmosphere.

3. Confidentiality: An understanding of the importance of confidentiality in conversation and a willingness to keep personal information strictly confidential.

4. Reliability: The willingness to be regularly available for volunteer work and to reliably attend the agreed appointments, of course by mutual agreement.

5. Intercultural competence: An understanding of intercultural dynamics and the ability to respectfully take cultural differences into account.

As the volunteer work takes place in accommodation for refugees, we require proof of your measles vaccination and an extended certificate of good conduct from the fourth assignment at the latest.

You can request the extended certificate of good conduct free of charge as part of the volunteer work.
