About the volunteering opportunity
With our Yadan Biad (=Hand in Hand in Arabic) project, we at the German Red Cross KV Schöneberg-Wilmersdorf e.V. want to get people from the neighborhood to accompany young refugees on their various paths into our society.
We want to shape integration together and help young refugees who are alone in Germany to reach their destination more quickly, stay motivated and not feel alone.
Your Tasks
We are currently looking for someone who would enjoy playing soccer with a group of 14- to 17-year-old children and young people. You would accompany or even lead the group activity together with other volunteers. You will be in regular contact with the project management and the social workers on site.
Experience in leading soccer groups would be an advantage. We look forward to getting to know you better!
What's needed
You would like to get involved with refugees and are willing to commit 2-3 hours per week on a regular basis.
We are looking for this:
- Long-term commitment for at least 6 months, but ideally longer
- Openness, curiosity and respectful interaction at eye level
- Commitment, personal responsibility and reliability
- Ability to work independently or together with other volunteers in a team
Time required
Soccer training will take place by arrangement either at the weekend or during the week between 4 and 6 p.m., but approx. 2-3 hours per week should be planned (of course excluding illness / vacation, emergencies, etc.)

Our aim is to shape integration together and, by accompanying refugees, to help them reach their goals more quickly, to stay motivated and not to feel alone.
We bring people together who fit together as well as possible and share common interests or goals. We work closely with two shelters in Schöneberg for refugee women and their children and provide close and professional support for both refugees and volunteers.
We are currently looking for women who would like to support young refugee women on their way to a new life. From park mornings with children, excursions, support with formalities to cooking together, everything can be included. We are looking forward to meeting you!
