Volunteer support at the 23rd Aachen Peace Run

The time has come: the 23rd Aachen Peace Run will take place on June 28, 2024! We are expecting up to 2,000 schoolchildren to run together for peace on this day in the Frankenberger Viertel.

With the run, the children and young people are sending a signal of solidarity - with the people in Ukraine and in crisis regions around the world. At the same time, they will collect donations for the peace work of forumZFD, pax christi Aachen and the Aachen Schools Against Violence and Racism network with every lap they run.

Once again this year, we are dependent on many helping hands to organize the Aachen Peace Run. Specifically, we need active help in the period from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to distribute bananas and water to the runners, to stamp the laps run or to secure the running route.

We also need people who have time the evening before the Peace Run (27.06.2024) between 6 and 8 p.m. to walk the course. We can schedule these people as course marshals for the Peace Run. But if they only have time on the day of the Peace Run, that's no problem at all.

The forumZFD (Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst e. V. - Forum Civil Peace Service) organizes so-called peace runs throughout Germany, where students collect donations to support our peace projects with every lap they run. In Ukraine we provide people with essential goods as well as psychological support, in other countries of operation peace consultants support communities in the integration of refugees and the non-violent management of conflicts. In addition, forumZFD also advises cities and municipalities in Germany on the integration of refugees as part of its municipal conflict advisory service.
