About the volunteering opportunity
For Mrs. S., an 80-year-old resident of our shared apartment "WG Spittelmarkt", we are looking for a volunteer companion for one-to-one care and short walks. Mrs. St. has difficulties communicating due to her health restrictions. Therefore, volunteers with little knowledge of German can also get involved. She enjoys being outdoors and going for walks, either in her wheelchair for longer distances or on foot in her apartment.
Your Tasks
- Regular visits to Mrs. St. for walks outside and in the apartment
- Simple communication and instructions in German (A2 level)
- Consideration of Mrs. St.'s needs and preferences despite her health restrictions
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
- Empathy and sensitivity in dealing with older people
- Willingness to provide individual care and adapt to Mrs. St.'s needs
- Reliability and regular availability for visits
