About the volunteering opportunity
In the Märkisches Viertel residential community, we offer one (or three) visiting service(s) for three elderly ladies who long for company and enjoy getting out into the fresh air. We are looking for volunteer caregivers who can respond to the individual needs of the residents. Due to their mobility restrictions, they are unable to walk long distances, but would like to sit on a bench in the garden, play memory training/quizzes and enjoy a change of scenery.
Your Tasks
- Regular visits to the ladies, if necessary visiting service for a single lady
- Responding sensitively to the residents' stories and memories
- If necessary, go for walks in the surrounding area to get some fresh air
- Willingness to adapt flexibly to the individual needs of the ladies
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
- Preferably female
Empathy and patience in dealing with older people, especially those with dementia - Willingness to adapt to the individual needs and abilities of senior citizens and provide them with appropriate support
- Reliability and punctuality
