About the volunteering opportunity
As a volunteer in our local Red Cross chapters, you will play a vital role in supporting various programs and activities aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life of people in our community. You will work closely with other volunteers to meet the needs of our fellow human beings and bring about positive change.
Your Tasks
Here you will find a few examples of the wide range of activities we offer in our local clubs and the opportunities you have to get involved as a volunteer.

Support with blood donation campaigns:
- Welcoming and registering donors.
- Providing information and support during the donation process.
- Providing refreshments and support after the donation.

Organizing games, handicrafts, needlework and club afternoons:
- Planning and running creative activities for children, families and senior citizens.
- Providing materials and resources for the activities.
- Assisting with the supervision and guidance of participants.

Visiting and driving services:
- Accompanying senior citizens to medical appointments or shopping trips.
- Providing companionship and encouraging social contact.
- Support with everyday tasks and errands.

Organizing excursions and day trips:
- Planning and organizing outings for seniors and families.
- Organizing transport and accommodation.
- Ensuring the smooth running and supervision of participants.

Organization of babysitting courses:
- Organizing babysitting training courses.
- Support in teaching first aid and childcare skills.
- Supervision and guidance of participants during the course.

Senior citizens' afternoons:
- Planning and implementation of events specifically for senior citizens.
- Organization of entertainment programs, lectures or games.
- Provision of catering and supervision during the events.

Exercise programs:
- Organizing sports and exercise activities for people of all ages.
- Organizing gymnastics classes, hikes or other sporting activities.
- Providing instruction and support for participants.

Holiday childcare:
- Planning and running childcare activities for children during school vacations.
- Organizing excursions, games and creative activities.
- Ensuring a safe and fun environment for the children.

Meeting meals:
- Organizing meals together for families, seniors or people in need.
- Providing food and helping to prepare it.
- Encouraging sharing and fellowship during meals.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
