About the volunteering opportunity
Around 8 residents take part in the group activities in the "Am Lakegrund" shared flat for people with dementia. An art therapist is already on duty for the art therapy session and needs your support.
Here it is up to you to create an exciting atmosphere with the support of an art therapist. Every Wednesday morning from 9.45 to 11.00 a. m. you can take part in art therapy and provide creative highlights.
We are looking for committed volunteers who enjoy communicating with the residents and can motivate them. A little "Super made" can go a long way. It is possible to volunteer on a one-off basis, but it would be ideal if you live nearby and can volunteer regularly.
Your Tasks
- Support residents during art therapy, in painting, crafting or creative projects
- Motivate the residents through empathetic communication and encouraging words
- Support the art therapist by actively participating in group activities and bringing a smile to the residents
- Possibility for selective or regular volunteering, depending on your own preferences
What's needed
- Enjoy working with older people
- Communication skills to motivate and support the residents
- You should enjoy art, contact with senior citizens and communication.
- Be willing to engage in new experiences and enrich the residents' quality of life through your commitment
