Volunteer lay interpreters for people with a refugee background

The ability of immigrants to participate depends largely on their concerns being understood despite limited or no knowledge of German. For this reason, the municipality of Niedernhausen is looking for volunteer lay interpreters in cooperation with the state program "WIR - Vielfalt und Teilhabe".

Your Tasks

• You support people with a refugee background who need help arriving and finding their way in Niedernhausen.
• You will come into contact with people from different countries around the world. With your language skills, you enable people to communicate with institutions, e.g. schools, daycare centers and authorities.
• You will take part in a free training course that will prepare you optimally for the job.

What's needed

You speak German well and have another native language. Or you speak one or more foreign languages.

Time required

your assignment is flexible and depends on your availability.

The municipality of Niedernhausen is looking for lay interpreters to support people with language barriers in arriving and finding their way in Germany. This is an integration measure of the municipality.
