About the volunteering opportunity

The hostel for homeless people in Berlin-Marzahn offers around 160 places for people in social need, especially for families and vulnerable women who have been victims of domestic violence and for people with limited mobility.

We are looking for volunteers who have the time and interest to bring joy to children from refugee families and children from homeless families to support the full-time childcare staff during a visit to a workshop in the Scharf-Gerstenberg Collection with children of primary school age on May 15.

Your Tasks

  • You accompany the children from the facility together with the childcare worker on public transport to the Scharf-Gerstenberg collection.
  • You make sure that the children stay together in the group and coordinate with the childcare provider.
  • You help to look after the children during the workshop.
  • You return to the facility with the children and the caregiver.

  • Patience, empathy and openness to the life situation of the families in the facility
