Planning and accompanying vacation camps in Germany and abroad for children, teenagers and young people

hin und weg - Evangelische Jugendreisen is a specialist service of the Protestant Regional Association in the Protestant City Youth Parish Office. During the Hessian school vacations, hin und weg offers around 18-20 camps every year for around 450 children and young people aged between 7 and 18 from Frankfurt, Offenbach and the surrounding area, including pre- and post-meetings.
Furthermore, hin und weg trains and develops around 70 volunteers each year for the respective camps and their specific requirements. The seminars for new and experienced team leaders build on the training for youth group leaders (Juleica) and specialize in particular for volunteer work at camps.
We are always looking for new volunteers who would like to actively help shape our camps and give the participating children, teenagers and young people an unforgettable time during their vacation. Community, fun and activity are our top priorities! As part of a diverse team, you will organize exciting and varied camps at home and abroad for the respective target group. In order to provide you with the necessary knowledge, we offer various training and further education courses every year to develop your personality and skills - free of charge, of course!

You will be supported in all of these tasks by a committed, dynamic team of full-time staff who will take care of the rough planning and organization of the camps (when? where? how many participants? what budget? plus all administrative tasks) as well as providing the financial resources!

Our camps take place during the vacations in Hessen (winter, Easter, summer, fall) and last between 5 and 14 days. The pre- and post-meetings are held on a Saturday or Sunday and usually last about 2 hours (plus preparation and follow-up). We also (usually) schedule our various training and further education courses on weekends. All dates are announced (well) in advance and you can decide for yourself which camps you are interested in and when you would like to make your commitment available.
In Hessen, it is also possible to take time off work from your employer to volunteer so that you don't have to "sacrifice" your vacation. You can apply for time off for up to 12 working days per year. We will be happy to help you!
