About the volunteering opportunity
Everyday family life remains a challenge even after the first year of life. Families with several children in quick succession, multiple birth families or single parents in particular often feel exhausted and want support from time to time so that they can take a deep breath.
This is where "goldwert" comes in. Our volunteers are available in Friedrichshain for families with children between the ages of 1 and 6. They provide care once a week for 2-3 hours. The assignments are limited in time and usually last 6-8 months.
They are aimed at all families who cannot rely on the support of friends, family or neighbors and who feel in need of help.
Your Tasks
- Pick up children from the daycare center, for example
- swinging a round on the playground
- read to them at home/make their evening meal
- Accompanying the children to leisure activities
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
No special qualifications are necessary, as you will be well supported by your team coordinator.

You meet the family once or twice a week for 2 - 3 hours. You arrange the appointments individually with the family, so you are flexible in terms of time.
