About the volunteering opportunity
Do you have a knack for forms, applications and letters to the authorities and are you looking for a meaningful job? Then get in touch with us!
We, the AWO meeting place "Sirius-Treff" in Altglienecke, are looking for an open and empathetic person for our "document consultation hour". Here you can help people from the neighborhood (Kosmosviertel) with filling out documents, submitting applications and, if necessary, with job applications. The service takes place every Thursday from 16:00 to 18:00 in the "Sirius-Treff". If this time slot is not suitable, the service can also be offered on another working day.
The voluntary "document consultation hour" is only intended to provide advice and assistance and does not replace an appointment with a public authority or - if necessary - a visit to a specialist advice center. A very good knowledge of German is required for this commitment.

Your Tasks
In most cases, the visitors (mainly senior citizens and people with a refugee or migrant background) need support with correspondence regarding rental issues/health insurance/insurance/medical service regarding care level, applications for citizens' benefits, retraining, etc. Laptop and printer can be used on site.

The MARIE Engagement Office is the contact point for volunteering at AWO Berlin Kreisverband Südost e.V.
We advise interested parties on the opportunities and framework conditions for volunteering in the district association's facilities and projects.
We place interested volunteers in a suitable placement.
We offer volunteers:

Insurance cover (accident and liability),
Proof of volunteer work,
Further training, exchange of experience, etc.
Our facilities are located in the Berlin districts of Neukölln, Lichtenberg, Reinickendorf and Treptow-Köpenick.
Daycare centers, after-school care centers, family centers, 1:1 support as part of a sponsorship... The opportunities for volunteering with us are many and varied!
