About the volunteering opportunity

Cat intermediary for our animal welfare organization in the home office

We are looking for reinforcement for our cat intermediation. The intermediary work is very varied and responsible. In order to find the right home for our cats, it is very important to us to carefully inform potential families. We are also the point of contact for our partner organizations, preliminary inspectors, transporters and authorities. After a successful intermediation, we continue to provide our adopters with help and advice over the phone. We support them for at least 3 months during the acclimatization of the cats before the team of our adopter care takes over the final aftercare. We are looking for committed helpers for this varied task.

Your Tasks

What needs to be done?

The following tasks should be undertaken for cat intermediation:

  • Editing cat profiles: for new animals to be placed, coordinate and formulate the descriptions of the cats with the respective shelter partner; store pictures for this purpose in the cloud; revise existing profiles
  • Correspondence with potential adopters: processing incoming adoption inquiries and applications
  • Education and advice: informing interested parties and potential adopters about adoption, animal welfare, etc
  • Organization: preliminary and follow-up checks on adopters, drawing up protection contracts, transports and handovers
  • Master data maintenance: of adopters and animals
  • Communication: with foster homes, sponsors, animal shelters, veterinary offices and transporters

If you have between 5 and 7 hours a week for us, the work is easy to do. More is also possible if you can find the time.

Important notice

Important note

We always have interested parties who initially want to help us, but then fail to fulfill their duties. If you apply to us, please remember that our animal placement is a day-to-day operational business that exists continuously. We have a team in the animal intermediation area (separate dog and cat intermediation), tasks can be agreed and distributed. We need a high degree of reliability in animal intermediation, as it is not least a service. If you have between 5 and 7 hours a week for us, the work is easy to do. More is also possible, if you can find the time. Working and coordinating as a team is very important to us despite working mainly virtually - we are an association and we live and breathe this. We also offer regular association meetings in the region, where we can see each other and develop the association further. However, your work is not regionally bound to the Rhine-Main area.

Where?

This project is location independent.

Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V.

We are a small animal welfare association in the Rhine-Main area that focuses on the protection of and help for cats and dogs in need. We work throughout Germany and with partner organisations in Spain. Our work is based on three main areas of education, spaying/neutering and animal placement/adoption and we work entirely on a voluntary basis.
