In 2000, Angela Beyer initiated the wheelchair dance group "Rock & Wheels", which still trains weekly with great pleasure and takes part in wheelchair dance festivals in Berlin and other federal states. The wheelchair dance event "Danze Days Berlin", which is attended by around 120 participants from various federal states, was held for the first time in 2011 and was repeated in 2013, 2015 and 2018 due to the great response and many volunteers. (danzedaysberlin.de) The Rock & Wheels dance group promotes new interpersonal contacts, special talents and, last but not least, an improved quality of life. It is particularly remarkable how many people with and without disabilities can learn from each other.

Your Tasks
The wheelchair dance group "Rock & Wheels" from Berlin-Lichtenberg is looking for volunteers who are interested in dancing and have the time to dance with wheelchair users. The dance training takes place on Mondays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the sports hall of the Carl- von-Linné comprehensive school, Paul-Junius-Straße 15 in 10367 Berlin-Lichtenberg. Possible dance styles are: Basics wheelchair dance, Latin American dances and standard dances as well as show dance. Come along and let's express the joy of dancing together.

For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
