About the volunteering opportunity
In the Oxfam stores, volunteer teams sell donated items and are thus committed to Oxfam's goal of a fair and sustainable world without poverty. Every year, they give over 3 million items a new lease of life and the funds raised benefit Oxfam's development work.

- As a volunteer in the Oxfam Shop, you will work with your team colleagues to keep the store running.
- Your tasks include accepting, sorting, pricing and presenting donations in kind such as clothing, books, games and useful items for the home. You will advise customers, operate the till and take care of the store's appearance.
- Your organizational skills are in demand, whether in everyday store life or during special promotions.
- You will use your communication skills to pass on Oxfam's values and vision. You will communicate with customers and donors in German.
- You have the time and desire to take on a fixed shift of 5 hours per week and ideally you will remain committed in the long term.
- In the first 4 trial shifts you will be familiarized with the various tasks and have the opportunity to decide whether you want to work with us.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- To be involved in the Oxfam store, you should identify with Oxfam's visions and goals and be reliable in your tasks.
- You enjoy working with people and are a team player.
- Good and direct communication is important to you.
- Your German language skills should be sufficient to communicate with the team as well as with customers and donors.
- You are at least 18 years old, physically fit for the demands of volunteering (lifting, carrying, standing) and willing to work a fixed 5-hour shift per week.
Time required
You take on a fixed 5-hour shift per week (morning or afternoon).
