Operation in the Ohlauer Strasse 365 emergency overnight accommodation

Johanniter emergency shelter "Ohlauer 365":
At the Ohlauer Straße emergency shelter, we Johanniter offer up to 88 homeless people (and, to a limited extent, their four-legged companions) overnight accommodation, a hot evening meal, breakfast, hygiene services, medical consultations, clothing and professional social work all year round. We are there for our guests for 12 hours a day, seven days a week. In order to make all this possible, we urgently need volunteer support on a daily basis. By working with us, you help people in great need in a very tangible way - and learn a lot about Berlin, about yourself and about being human!
Of course, full-time colleagues and employees of a security service are always on site during our outreach times.

There are many tasks that arise from running the accommodation, which you can take over according to your skills and desire:

With the exception of kitchen service, all areas of employment are free of requirements and suitable for any person of legal age. When preparing and serving food, possession of the "red card" (infection protection instruction for food staff) is mandatory - this can be applied for and obtained from the Berlin Health Department in Wilmersdorf. At least a basic knowledge of German is required. It is great if you also know other relevant languages: English, Arabic, Polish, Russian, Bulgarian etc. Please note: You must be at least 18 years old to join us.

All relevant work equipment is provided. It would make sense to wear comfortable and warm clothes, which can get dirty.
