About the volunteering opportunity
In our weekly youngcaritas smartphone consultation hour, senior citizens come by with an appointment and are happy to have young people help them with their smartphones.
Your Tasks
The everyday knowledge of young volunteers (aged 15-31) on the subject of smartphones is very much in demand here! It's often about helping them to use their smartphones in general, which can mean:
How do I turn on my cell phone?
How do I save contacts?
How do I answer a call?
How can I make a video call via What's App?
And much more :-).

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
The volunteers (15- 31 years) should be able to communicate well in German.
Their own everyday knowledge of smartphones is perfectly adequate.
A degree or similar in IT is not required!

On weekdays, during the day
Our smartphone consultation hour always takes place on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Zentrum 60plus.
We always sit down together for about 15 minutes beforehand to discuss which people are registered with which issues. Afterwards, we briefly discuss how the smartphone consultation went.
The service is always supervised by a full-time Caritas employee from youngcaritas and/or the 60plus center.

A basic openness towards older people and patience is very important - being old is very versatile!
