About the volunteering opportunity
Mittelhof coordinates the volunteer work for unaccompanied minor refugees in the Lissabonallee accommodation. The accommodation is designed for 16 residents.
Your Tasks
We are currently mainly looking for tutoring but also support/mentoring for the following young people:
I. (m) (15, Syria)
🔹 Speaks only Arabic and needs help learning German (alphabet, basics).
🔹 Support with knowledge of Arabic would be ideal.
🔹 Language level: A1
I. (m) (16, Afghanistan)
🔹 Attends a welcome class, is preparing for the A2.1 exam.
🔹 Speaks Pashtu, learns quickly and is rather quiet.
🔹 Language level: A2.1
V. (m) (Turkey/Kurdistan)
🔹 Would like tutoring, ideally with knowledge of Turkish (not a must).
🔹 Language level: A1
S. (f)
🔹 Friendly and open, already has tutoring.
🔹 Interested in leisure activities such as cycling, swimming or dancing.
🔹 Language level: A1-A2
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.

On weekdays, during the day
As the young people usually come home from school around 2:00 p.m./3:00 p.m., it would make sense for the tutoring to take place in the afternoon. As the pupils have a lot to learn, we can probably expect a maximum of one hour of concentration time. If there is time and interest, we would also be happy about accompaniment on excursions or to appointments.
