Organization of the processes of a non-profit association

Schülerpaten Dortmund e.V. arranges and supervises 1:1 educational sponsorships between volunteers and pupils from immigrant families in Dortmund and the surrounding area.

The goal of the sponsorships is to improve educational opportunities through individual and free tutoring, as well as to promote mutual exchange and social cohesion in the long term through diverse encounters - all under the motto "Learning from each other. Understanding each other."

 

Working in our team involves organizing the processes within the association.

Different tasks can be taken on in four different departments and the board offices. These all aim to arrange and support as many sponsorships as possible.

The organizational work is characterized by flexibility , as you can work in a great team, but also independently, creatively and often independently of time. Many of the tasks can be done online/remotely.

Once a month, we come together for an organizational meeting and a department meeting (also possible online) to check the current status and discuss new tasks.

Our different areas/departments:

-> Placement & support (organization of all aspects of the creation and support of sponsorships)
-> Training & Events (organization of workshops, activities and festivals)
-> Press and public relations (acquisition of new volunteers; social media; press)
-> Fundraising (generating donations and funding)

Volunteers should be at least 18 years old , speak German at an advanced level and generally enjoy various organizational tasks. They should also have at least six months' time available to carry out the volunteer work on a regular basis.

It is desirable that the volunteers support the organization team for at least six months.
The amount of time required depends on the tasks discussed and personal capacity. The monthly organization and department meetings (online possible) should be attended regularly to discuss the current status and new tasks.
