About the volunteering opportunity
Moving to a new place means more than just having an address - it means becoming part of a community.
Welcome Buddy connects immigrants with a local volunteer who is here to help them settle in Frankfurt. For six months, one local buddy supports one newcomer with everyday questions, helps them navigate bureaucratic matters or look for accommodation and introduces them to life in Frankfurt. Ultimately, the welcome buddy program aims at making the transition to a new life easier for people that have arrived recently, breaking down barriers, celebrate diversity - and create a strong and inclusive network.

Your Tasks
As a volunteer you will be meeting up with your newcomer once a week for approximately 1-2 hours. The main tasks entail:
- support in everyday questions related to mobility (how to use the metro, buy a train ticket etc.), groceries or health
- support with appointments with authorities and help to fill in forms
- help to find counseling in different matters
- getting to know the city/its communities and growing a network
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
